Ctenopoma muriei
Small in size, Males have spiny scales behind the eye and on the caudal fin base. Posses a well developed opercular spine. Body silverish, darker dorsally with speckles on flanks. Pelvic Fins clear. Dark spot on caudal fin base surrounded by pale ring, spot more visible in juveniles.
Inhabit Swampy regions. Juveniles found in pools among papyrus.
Feeds on vegetables, ostracods, dipteran larvae, beetles, mollusks and organic debris.
