Identification:
A small, often overlooked ant that enters homes and gardens. There are two kinds of workers : abundant individuals with normal sized heads and some with larger, hence the common name.
Habits and Habitat:
Ubiquitous and spreading across East Africa. One of the world's worst invasive ants. Colonies Are spread out over many square kilometres, with many thousands of queens. Nests are located underground and are often marked by loose detritus or remnants from foraging on the surface. These ants enter other ant and bee nests and quickly consume most other insect species that they encounter.
